4 Snacking Habits Trigger Heart: There are some unhealthy snacking habits and can trigger heart disease if it lasts a long time. Like eating sweet and too salty foods. Snacking, one of the eating activities that is difficult for everyone to avoid. Usually people enjoy unhealthy snacks such as foods with high sugar, fat and salt content. This unhealthy snacking habit can create problems for the health of the body. One of them, triggers the risk of heart disease. If the heart is already problematic, then it is also related to hereditary diseases such as cholesterol and high blood pressure.

1. Consume Too Many Sweet Snacks

Many types of snacks are high in sugar. Such as candy, biscuits, cakes, soft drinks, ice cream, and others. Snacking on something sweet and delicious like candy is very tempting. However, nutritionists warn that too much added sugar can contribute to negative health outcomes. Dietitian  explains that too much and too often can lead to heart disease. Snacking on foods high in added sugar and low in fiber or protein can also cause spikes in blood sugar levels.

2. Too Many Salty Snacks

Salty snacks are indeed the most delicious to fill spare time. Like eating packaged potato chips it will be very difficult to stop. Especially if accompanied by watching movies. Because processed foods are defined as foods made mostly of fat, added sugars, refined carbohydrates, and hydrogenated oils. Young explains that eating these foods on a regular basis can contribute to the risk of heart disease. “These foods are very high in calories and can easily contribute to weight gain, which can lead to obesity. Obesity is a major risk factor for heart disease. One study recently published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology found that high consumption of processed foods increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, and this risk increases with each additional daily serving of processed foods.

4. Eat a lot of baked goods

Baked foods such as pastries are actually good to eat. As long as it’s in low amounts, too much can potentially negatively trigger heart disease. Moreover, pastries are made with high added sugar and trans fat. Where the content is not healthy and can indeed trigger heart disease.
